Tick season is never far off in California. After a nice walk today we found a tick strolling across the floor in our family room. Now I can’t stop imagining things crawling on me– one of my favorite things about the human mind!
Peak tick encounters in Northern California are usually from the end of November until around mid June. Get out the tick preventative and learn to inspect your dogs for ticks. For a natural alternative, we have been known to LOVE diatomaceous earth.
If you do find one burrowed into your dog, go online to learn how to remove them or your vet can do it for you. Dog’s can get Lymes disease as well as a few other diseases from the hungry little beasts, so it’s important to give your dog a good once over if you have been walking off the pavement.
